Scuderia Ecosse driver wins Autosport Award

On the day that Andrew Kirkaldy collects his BRDC Silver Star, the Scuderia Ecosse team is thrilled to confirm that the young Scot has won another prestigious award.

At last night’s Autosport Awards, Kirkaldy was called up to receive the ‘British Club Driver of the Year’ Award from David Coulthard and Jenson Button. Naturally, he was surprised but delighted to receive such an accolade.

“I’ve been waiting a long time to get another one of these awards!” said Andrew, a former winner of the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award. “We couldn’t have asked for a better season as from 13 races we won 11. It has been great. It wasn’t just me though; I’ve got a team-mate (Nathan Kinch) to thank as well. This award means a great deal to me as it was a public vote so thanks to everyone who took the time to vote for me!”

Andrew is at Silverstone today, receiving the Silver Star from the BRDC. He’ll be busy this evening, re-arranging his mantelpiece to fit all the new silverware!
