With just one race remaining this season the Scuderia Ecosse team was in determined mood as they set off yesterday for the San Luis province of Argentina and its first-ever race in South America. The final heat of the 2008 FIA GT Championship will take place this weekend at the Potrero de los Funes a brand new semi-permanent circuit which will ensure that all of the teams taking part will be on an equal footing.

Before heading out to San Luis Fabio Babini said, “I’m really keen to get back behind the wheel of the race car, 35 days is far too long a period for me to go without racing. After our bad luck at Zolder I am hoping for a good result from this race. I think the new circuit will be a superb challenge and as ever, I know that the Scuderia Ecosse team and Pirelli will do a great job, especially with this being the last race of the championship.”

Jamie Davies added, “I’m really looking forward to travelling to Argentina for the last race. From the pictures I've seen the circuit looks quite challenging and should be great fun to drive. Our speed was very fast at Zolder and hopefully we can and turn the progress we have made in the last two races into a podium finish.”

Team Principal Stewart Roden commented. "It is really exciting going to the new Potrero de los Funes circuit it looks really interesting. The team did a great job in Zolder and we were unlucky not to finish on the Podium, both drivers were right on the pace so I hope we can do the same in Argentina. Pirelli have done a fantastic job for us this year and we have been making steady progress at every race so it would be great to finish the season on a high. However, with this been a new circuit, making sure that the car has the right race set-up will be crucial and with temperatures expected to hover around 30 c throughout the race the weather will be an important factor.”

Keep right up to date with the Team’s progress this weekend with the extensive TV coverage now being offered during the 2008 season.
