Race Preview - Rounds 9 & 10 Oulton Park

After a four week break, Scuderia Ecosse’s British GT Championship campaign gets back on track this weekend at the picturesque Oulton Park. The Cheshire circuit is a favourite amongst drivers and spectators and is one of the most technically challenging tracks on the British calendar.

Stewart Roden, Scuderia Ecosse Team Principal
“This is an important weekend for us so we’re ready for the challenge and raring to go. If there can ever be a positive side to the two DNFs we got at Castle Combe it’s the fact that we lost most of our success ballast for Oulton Park, whereas the GruppeM car will have the full load. We’ve got to get out there and make the most of that – make hay while the sun shines, so to speak!”


Car #35 – Ferrari 360 GTC:

Andrew Kirkaldy
“Oulton Park is a track I know well but as far as the Ferrari goes it’s a bit of an unknown as I’ve not driven a 360 there before. I expect it will suit the car though so I’m looking forward to it. The other unknown is the competition. It will be interesting to see how Tim Sugden’s Porsche goes without him in it, if you know what I mean! What we do know is that we’ve got very little ballast and the Porsche will be very heavy, although we do have the time penalty. We’ll give it everything we’ve got and, as ever, we’ll be there to win.”

Nathan Kinch
“I’m looking forward to this race after having a long break since the Castle Combe event. We had a good run at the Donington FIA GT race a couple of weeks ago so it will be good to get back to business in the British GT Championship. This will be an important weekend for our Championship challenge but Oulton Park should suit us and, without all that extra ballast weighing us down, it should be a good weekend.”


Car #34 – Ferrari 360 GT:

Tim Mullen
“I’ve raced at Oulton Park many times so I know it like the back of my hand. It’s a great track and is very exciting to drive. It’ll be good to get back in the Ferrari after a long break and I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t expect to be up on the podium this weekend.”

Chris Niarchos
“Oulton Park is a brilliant circuit and I enjoy driving there a lot. It’s a good old-fashioned race track with fast curves and twisty sections, it really has a bit of everything and is great fun to drive. Qualifying is the big challenge at Oulton. There aren’t many passing places so a good grid position is vital. The 360 GT has had major updates since Castle Combe so I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel.”
